Four questions to ask at a job interview

The thing about job interviews is – they’re for the candidate too. You’re not there to talk someone into giving you a job. You’re there to decide if the job is right for you. Asking questions is a big way to do that. Four questions I like to ask:

  1. What do you like and dislike about working here?
  2. In this position, will most communication be in person, by phone, or by email?
  3. In an average day, what will the person in this job spend most of their time doing?
  4. What would a good first year in this job look like? What would be accomplished?
