Four questions to ask at a job interview: Corporate Culture

I’ve written about questions to ask at a job interview before. An interview is not an audition. You’re not doing a little dance and trying to get the employer to like you. It’s a fact-finding mission, for both sides. You want to impress them, yes. But you also want data about the job and the corporate culture it inhabits. Here are a few corporate culture questions to ask:

  1. How do most people spend their lunch? (I stole this question from Lifehacker)
  2. What is the average length of employment here?
  3. Why is this job vacant?
  4. How would you describe the supervision style here?
